From Mataji-Pitaji-Guruji to 5G: Are Our Children Still Out of Coverage?Mataji-Pitaji-Guruji se lekar 5G tak: Kya hamare bachche ab bhi coverage se bahar hain?

While lecturing in class the other day, I realized something shocking-
I was teaching full 4G speed, but the students were receiving it in 2G.

Half were staring at me, half at the fan, and the remaining half were mentally on vacation.
It felt like I was the only device in the room with a working network.

That’s when it hit me: in our childhood, one look from mataji, pitaji, guruji instantly restored “full bars.” Today’s kids? Even standing under a 5G tower, they remain “No Signal.”

That contrast between then and now, sparked the entire idea behind this piece.
Yahi tab aur ab ka tých vichaar iss poore blog ka beej bana.

1. Then vs Now: A Generational Shift
Tab aur Ab: Peedhiyon ka Badalta Manzar

There was a time-a jamana, when guidance flowed naturally from mataji, pitaji, guruji. These figures created a network far more stable than any technology we have today.
One look from mataji = instant connection.
One ahem from pitaji = system reboot.

Ek zamaana tha jab mātaaji, pitāji, gurūji hi asli network the-sabse mazboot signal.
Mataji ki ek nazar = instant connection.
Pitaji ka ek “hmm” = turant reboot mode.

Their presence acted like a strong signal, shaping values, discipline, and emotional grounding.

Unki maujoodgi hi woh signal thi jo sanskaar, anushasan aur bhavnaon ka coverage deti thi.

2. Modern Connectivity, Emotional Disconnection
Nayi Connectivity, Par Jazbaati Disconnection

Today we live in an era of 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G-superfast internet, instant messages, and unlimited information.
Videos load in seconds, food arrives in minutes…

Aaj 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G ka yug hai-tez internet, instant messages, unlimited jaankari.
Videos turant load ho jaate, khana jaldi deliver ho jaata…

Yet ironically, the emotional “coverage” for children seems weaker than ever.

Par ajeeb baat yeh hai ki bachchon ka jazbaati coverage sabse kamzor ho chuka hai.

Parents talk → Kids buffering.
Parents raise volume → Kids raise screen brightness.

Parents bolte: “Beta suno…”
Bachche: “Buffering…”
Parents volume badhate, bachche brightness.

Devices connect, but people disconnect.

Devices judte hain, par log jud nahi pa rahe.

3. What’s Missing? Kya Kami Hai?

It’s not technology that’s the problem; it’s the attention deficit.
Children receive notifications but not conversations, screen-time but not soul-time.

Samasyā takneek nahi, dhyaan ki kami hai.
Notifications milti hain, baatein nahi. Screen-time milta hai, soul-time nahi.

Guidance once came from elders.
Now it comes from…
the algorithm, the gaming server, and that one influencer uncle.

Jo margdarshan kabhi buzurg dete the, ab woh algorithm, gaming server aur influencer chachu de rahe.

4. Rebuilding the Real Network
Asli Network Ko Dobara Banana

Children don’t need higher internet bandwidth, rather, they need higher emotional bandwidth.

Bachchon ko zyada internet bandwidth nahi chahiye-unhe jazbaati bandwidth chahiye.

What they truly need is: presence, patience, conversation, boundaries, culture, values

Bachchon ko zarurat hai: maujoodgi ki, dhairya ki, baat-cheet ki, seemaon ki, sanskriti ki, moolyon ki

And sometimes…temporary phone “seizure”-lovingly.

Kabhi-kabhi phone ka “temporary seizure” bhi-pyaar se.

5. Bringing Coverage Back
Coverage Wapas Kaise Laayen

If we want children to be “under coverage,” we must upgrade not just gadgets but our relationships.

Yadi hum chahte hain ki bachche coverage mein rahein, to humein gadgets nahi, rishte upgrade karne padenge.

Talk to them.
Listen to them.
Guide them.
Be reachable-emotionally, mentally, and morally.

Unse baat karein.
Unki sunen.
Unhe guide karein.
Aur jazbaati roop se unke liye available rahein.

6. Final Verdict - Antim Faisla

Technology has moved to 5G… But parenting?
Still requires “Mataji-Pitaji G”the original G-force.

Technology 5G tak pahunch gayi…Par parenting?
Abhi bhi “Mataji-Pitaji G” hi chahiye, Wahi asli G-force.

2G, 3G, 4G, 5G are powerful…
but they can never replace the ancient, timeless network of human connection.

2G, 3G, 4G, 5G bahut shaktishaali hain…
Par woh kabhi bhi insaani rishte ke asli signal ko replace nahi kar sakte.

There’s so much more I wish to express, but I conclude here for now-hoping to continue the conversation in my next writing.
